Barbara Ann (Derkowski) Beerwinkel

Barbara Ann Beerwinkel, 67 of Chappell Hill, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital, Bryan.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27th from 5 p.m. until rosary is recited at 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 28th at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Msgr. John C. Malinowski as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Barbara was born January 14, 1949 to Tony and Rosie (Krusleski) Derkowski. She was a 1967 honor graduate of Brenham High School. She married Herbert Beerwinkel on June 28, 1969. She was employed by Brenham ISD and for the past 26 years by Brenham Repair Center.

Barbara played church league volleyball. She enjoyed family gatherings and especially time with granddaughter Sydney. She loved animals, caring for many that needed a home.

Surviving loving family includes: husband of 47 years, Herbert Beerwinkel; daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Neal Hahn; granddaughter, Sydney Anais Hahn; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Taran Beerwinkel; siblings, Joe Derkowski and wife Ann, Tony Derkowski, Jr., Mary Ann Bacarisse, Bruno Derkowski; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were: parents; sister, Florence Stockton; brothers, Mike, Frank, Tom, Charlie and Steve Derkowski.

Serving as pallbearers will be Barbara’s relatives and friends.
