Caroline Gurka

Caroline Gurka, 75 of Brenham, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 3rd from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 4th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Ernesto Elizondo as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Her grandchildren, Justin Nobles, Kurt Tappe, Kirby Tappe, Jordan Tappe, Julie Garner and Megan Krolczyk, will serve as pallbearers.

Caroline Josephine Gurka was born September 23, 1939 in Hempstead, Texas to Theodore and Pearly (Wisnieski) Gurka. Caroline retired from Walmart, where she was employed as a stocker in women’s apparel.

She was preceded in death by parents and brother Theodore “T.J.” Gurka.

Survivors include: sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Karen Tappe of Burton, Harold Tappe, Jr. and Guardian Angel of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law, Josephine Tidwell and Ernie Jozwiak of Chappell Hill, Jeanna and Robbie Roese of Washington, Gloria and Mark Belinowski of Willis, Mary Tappe and Guardian Angel of Brenham; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Mary Ann Gurka of Plantersville, Steve and Dorothy Gurka of Navasota, Marion Gurka and Guardian Angel of Trinity, sister and brother-in-law, Dee and Carl Lane of Houston; grandchildren, Kirby and Brittney Tappe, Kolbie Tappe and fiancé Jordan Clay, Megan and Vincent Krolczyk, Jake Tidwell, Jordan Tappe, Trey Hicks, Justin and Sara Nobles, Joey and Nikki Pohl, Jared and Ashley Pohl, Julie Garner, Katie Belinowski, Kurt Tappe and fiancé Tiffany Walls, Shelby Draehn; great-grandchildren, Ryley, Kenzie, Kegan, Mason, Ryan, Jaycie, Zoe, Kallie, Wyatt, Braylie, Emma; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great niece, great nephew, friends, neighbors, her Walmart margarita drinking ladies special mention Clara, Bernice, Johnny and Sissy.
