Obituary

Charlotte was born in Houston, Texas, on October 9, 1940 to Jesse and Mildred Miller. Charlotte passed away on May 2, 2017, at Gazebo Terrace in Brenham, Texas, under the care of Brazos Valley Hospice following a lengthy illness.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Wesley Brethren Church. Michael Groseclose will officiate.

Charlotte graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, class of 1958. She spent the majority of her working career in the petroleum industry both for Shell Oil Company and Exxon Party 6 in Brenham. Charlotte’s last employment was with Palais Royal in Brenham. Charlotte was active in the community as a member of the Latium, Wesley, Greenvine VFD. She had many favorite pastimes such as fishing, traveling, dancing, collecting antiques, and playing cards with her many friends. Charlotte originally professed her faith in the Lord through baptism in Houston. She later made her home church at the Wesley Brethren Church in Wesley, Texas, where she served on the Board of Elders, and was a member of the Christian Sisters.

Charlotte was preceded in death by husband, Jackie “Jack” Belford Parkison, and parents Jesse and Mildred Miller.

She is survived by husband, Wilfred “Peanut” Gaskamp; sister, Brenda Gottlieb and husband David of The Woodlands; son, Randy Parkison and wife Teri of Brenham; daughter, Sherral Stell and special friend Cindy, of Brenham; grandchildren, Heidi Naylor and husband J.T., and Jackie Parkison; step-children, Theresa Orts and special friend Jimmy Anders, Karen Lauter and husband Gerald; step-grandchildren, Joshua Reeves and wife Bobbi Jo, Melissa Stokes and husband Matt, Amanda Lauter, Jason Riggins, Colby Orts and Ethan Orts; eight great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and very special friends, David and Marilyn Lange.
