Chester Hintz, Jr.

Chester Hintz, Jr. of Cypress passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Houston Methodist West Hospital. He was 68 years old.

Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12 with funeral services held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 13 both at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Pastor Darrin Holub will officiate. Burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Bellville.

Chester was born March 1, 1949 in Bellville to parents Myrtle Louise (Hegemeyer) and Chester Allen Hintz, Sr. He graduated from Brenham High School in 1967 and served in the United States Navy from 1969-1973. On May 26, 1973 he and Linda Lou Hartmann were married. He worked in the receiving department for Randall’s warehouse for many years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brother-in-law Ralph Hartmann, son-in-law Frank Coffman, and father-in-law Edwin Hartmann.

Survivors include: wife Linda; children Amy Rains (husband Daniel), Dwayne Hintz, Nancy Coffman-Phillips (husband Aaron); brother Allen Hintz; sister Cheri Barham (husband Earnest); grandchildren Franklin and Dustin Cline, Hailey, Isabelle, and Daniel Rains, Jr., Brianna and Christian Coffman, Landon and Madeline Phillips; mother-in-law Ora Mae Hartmann; and numerous nieces and nephews.
