Obituary

Cindy Kolkhorst, 62, of Bellville and formerly of Brenham, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Scott & White Hospital-College Station.

Visitation will be Friday, March 4th from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 5th at 2:00 p.m. in Prairie Lea Cemetery with a memorial service at Brenham Memorial Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Charles Parnell will officiate. A reception will follow at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Cindy was born June 12, 1953 in Brenham to Herbert M. and Gertrude (Fischer) Faske.
She was baptized June 28, 1953 and confirmed March 19, 1967 both in Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham. Cindy was a Brenham High School graduate. On September 19, 1975 she was united in marriage to Robert H. “Bobby” Kolkhorst, Jr. at Grace Lutheran Church. Cindy worked at the family Faske’s Jewelry, but later became a stay-at-home wife and mother. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. Her faith was an important part of her life, reading scripture and enjoying praise music. Her hobbies included reading and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Angela Kolkhorst, father-in-law Robert Kolkhorst Sr., brother-in-law Earl Joswiak and nephew Justin Joswiak.

Her loving and cherished family includes: husband, Bobby Kolkhorst; son, Brian Kolkhorst; mother-in-law, Bernice Kolkhorst; siblings and spouses, Gloria Joswiak, Herbert and Diane Faske, Morris and Kathy Faske, Carroll “Butch” and Betsy Faske, Carol “Sally” and Kenneth Blum; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Ron Goerdel; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a great-great niece.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Goeke, Warren Blum, Russell Schrader, Drake Faske, Bart Seilheimer, and Michael Joswiak. Honorary pallbearers are all nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and the Charles Goeke Family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be given to the Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care at UT Southwestern Medical Center, P.O. Box 910888, Dallas, TX 75391-0888 or Salem Lutheran Church, 1500 Salem Rd., Brenham, TX 77833.
