Obituary

David D. Leibham, 82, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Scott & White Hospital- Brenham.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 14th from 3:00 p.m. until Rosary is recited at 4:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 15th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with celebrants Bishop Joe Vasquez and Bishop Daniel Garcia; Father David M. Leibham Father Ernesto Elizondo and con-celebrating priests. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.

David D. Leibham was born November 25, 1933 in Crosby to parents Pete and Emily (Kubin) Leibham. He attended Crosby schools. On July 1, 1953, he joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He attended boot camp in San Diego, California. He attended Navy Airman’s school in Norman, Oklahoma. He then attended Aviation Electronics School in Millington, Tennessee and then was transferred to a fighter squadron in Quonset Point, Rhode Island. He served aboard aircraft carrier USS Hornet. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class.

On October 4, 1958, David was united in marriage to Annie Mae Krivacka in Crosby. He was a local truck driver out of Houston. After moving to Washington County in 1975, he became a full time rancher.

He enjoyed woodworking. He was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic and the Knights of Columbus.

His parents; brothers, Gene, Lawrence, Anthony and Dennis; brothers-in-law, Carroll Davis and Charles Butler; sister-in-law, Eleanor Leibham preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving family: wife, Annie Mae Leibham; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Nelson Seilheimer of Brenham; son, Father David M. Leibham, pastor of St. Mary’s Church of Hearne; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and David Short of Sugarland; grandchildren Adam and Leigh Seilheimer, Alison Seilheimer, Paul Whitley, Michael Whitley, Ashley Short , Austin Short; great-granddaughters, Adalynn and Emileigh Seilheimer; siblings, Joanne and Glynn Wilson, Thomas Leibham, Monica Davis, Carolyn Butler, Mary Catherine and Ted Ellerbee, Veronica and David Oehler; sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Leibham, Barbara Leibham; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Adam Seilheimer, Nelson Seilheimer, Paul Whitley, David Short, Michael Whitley and Doug Maurer.

Memorials are requested to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Bread Partners of Washington County.
