Donald Lewis "Don" Black

Donald Lewis Black of Latium, Texas, died surrounded by friends and family on Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Houston, Texas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Brenham Memorial Chapel from 5 – 8 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill, Texas, followed immediately by burial at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. The celebrant will be Father Jozef Musiol, SDS, JCD.

Don was born on June 1, 1936, in Georgiana, Alabama. On October 26, 1958, he married the love of his life, Annie Verna Pawlawski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill, Texas. They made their home in Houston and later moved to Latium, near Brenham, to raise their three sons.

Don was preceded in death by parents Early and Christine Black, and stepmother Katie Black, as well as brother Douglas Black.

Included among his survivors are wife of 58 years, Annie Verna (Pawlawski) Black; brother, Macarthur Black and wife Jackie; sister, Velma Carroll and husband Glen; sister-in-law, Nancy Black; sons, Lonnie and wife Donna, Billy Joe, Michael and wife Kim; grandchildren, Lacey Black, Dillon Black, Daylynn Black, and Matthew Black; three great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Warren Manuel, Calvin Dodd, Larry Kubeczka, Alan Mattern, Dillon Black, and Cory Fall.
