Obituary

Dorothy “Dody” Theeck, age 70 and the widow of James “Jim” Theeck, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 pm, Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held in Independence Baptist Church at 3 pm on Friday, June 27, 2014 with Pastor Phil Hassell officiating. Interment to follow in the historic Independence Cemetery.

Dorothy “Dody” was born December 30, 1943 in Harris County to parents Juanita (Stockton) and August Henry Hegar. She was an operator for Southwestern Bell in Houston and College Station. On January 24, 1964, Dody married James Theeck at the United Church of Christ in Cypress, Texas and to this union were two sons Clay and Shannon.

Dody was optimistic about winning her battle with cancer. She was a loving wife to Jim who passed away September 17, 2011 and supportive of his many agriculture endeavors. Dody was a member of Independence Baptist Church, Washington County Fair Association, Aggie Moms, TEEA and the Washington County Cattlewomen.

Dody is survived by two sons, Clay Theeck and wife Julia of Brenham, Shannon Theeck of Somerville; grandchildren Blane Theeck, Avery Theeck, Cameron Theeck, Cody Williams and wife Tia, Justin Solomon and wife Stefanie; great-granddaughter Cassie Williams; sister Marilyn Taylor; brother Bill Hegar; half- brother, Douglas Hegar along with cousins, nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Josh Kinslow, Will Hegar, Gary Lewandowski, Hebert Klatte Jr., Danny Taylor and Mark Nolan.

A meal at the church will follow the committal service.
