Edmund W. Richter

Edmund W. Richter, age 96, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in College Station Medical Center.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel, Friday, May 24 with Rev. Jim Hardaway officiating. Graveside service for Edmund Richter will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Rosenberg, TX at 3:00 p.m.

Edmund Richter was born August 21, 1916 in Kenney, TX to parents Theodore and Emma (Lueckemeyer) Richter and was educated in Ft. Bend County schools. On December 17, 1939 he married Jennie Hartlage in First Baptist Church of Rosenberg.
He retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1978. He was a member of Brenham’s First Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons Edmund W. Richter, Jr. and wife Gloria of Fulshear, TX;
Charles Ervin Richter of Brenham; daughter Doris Hinton and husband Joe of Chappell Hill; grandchildren Chip and Carrie Richter, Blake and Rachel Richter, Lindsey and Daniel Jamieson; great-grandchildren, Sydney and Zane Richter, Blake Jr. and Gibson Richter and Elyse Jamieson.

He was preceded in death by parents, wife and brother, Ervin Richter.

Memorials may be given to Brenham’s First Baptist Church.
