I am sorry for your loss, and at the same time celebrate the good life of Mr. Ed. My late mother, Naomi, became his bookkeeper in the early 1960's and I worked for him while in high school in the late 60's. Every time I have seen him over the years, I have reminded him that I was the best $1.60 per hour employee that he ever had! I always loved to hear his hearty laugh when I told him that. I have wonderful memories of a good man. May God bless you all.

Beverly and Ben,

My deepest condolences on the loss of your father. He was a leader in Brenham and at First Baptist Church as well as a fine businessman. I was blessed to know your father and mother growing up as your mom and dad were friends of my parents. Ed was committed to doing the Lord’s work and so blessed many others. May they be a source of strength to you at this difficult time.

My sympathy to your families. As most of you know,Mr. Boettcher was my very first employer, 6.1.67. I had just graduated from high school and my dad was my coach and I got the job being his secretary and customer service until Oct.1970. The only lumber company with air-conditioning in the late 60's. He gave me my first start in the working world. He had a sign in the coffee area and it said "Remember that our customers are our boss", so very true. Thanks for believing in me and my work ethic. Mr. Ed may you rest in peace until we will meet again.

Love,

Diana

When Tom and I married, and even before that, your parents were the the first friends of the Beards that I met in Brenham. It was the year Ben was Maifest King!
I did so admire them for their devotion to each other and to their church and community. I did not know of your father's military service, but am grateful for it. Their friendship with Jim and Gladys was sweet and long-lived! When I read in the obituary of Ed's devotion to evangelism, I thought .. I wish I had known him better.
Your father was the very definition of "Pillar of the Community." He will be missed by you, your family, and all of us who knew him.
