Eugene (Gene) Meschwitz

Gene Meschwitz, age 62, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by Rosary at 7:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 23. Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11a.m., Tuesday, May 24 followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Gene was born May 16, 1954 in Brenham to George and Mary Meschwitz.
He’s a graduate of Brenham High School and Blinn College. His employment was in manufacturing as an industrial engineer in designing light poles.

He was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

His loving family survives: mother Mary Meschwitz; special friend Kimberly Jenkins; sister-in-law Cynthia Meschwitz; niece Megan Voelkel; great-niece Emalee Archer; cousins Glen and Gayle Meschewitz; Sylvia and George Jurica.

His father George Meschwitz and brother James Meschwitz preceded him in death.

Pallbearers are David Majewski, Charles Majewski, Ron Woltmann, Don Woltmann, David Wessinger, Glen Meschewitz and Clarence Muegge. Honorary pallbearers are his classmates from St. Mary’s Catholic School and Valmont Employees.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
