Obituary

Eugene Philip “Gene” LaFleur, Jr., 66, of Brenham passed away Monday, April 3, 2006 as a result of an automobile fatality. Gene was born February 29, 1940 in Lubbock, Texas to Eugene Philip LaFleur, Sr. and Gladys Becker LaFleur.

Gene started first grade at Alamo School with Mrs. Louise Giddings as his teacher. He was a 1958 graduate of Brenham High School where he was the Cub Growl Photographer, member of the Golf Team, participated in the Senior Play and was the 1958 Senior Maifest King with Pat Maddox.

He was a 30-year member of the Washington County Go Texan Committee of the Houston Lifestock Show & Rodeo and a 35-year member of the Brenham Elks Lodge #979.

Gene was employed as a Senior Right-of-Way Agent for Contract Land Staff located in Stafford, Texas.

His parents and Aunt Bernice Becker preceded him in death.

Survived by his loving family, son Philip Eugene “Bubba” LaFleur of Bryan; special second son Taylor Larson of Brenham; special friend Cindy Larson of Brenham and a host of many, many beloved friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Brenham Elks Lodge, 400 East Germania Street in Brenham.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Washington County Go Texan Committee or Brenham Elks Lodge.
