Obituary

Frank J. Michalak Jr, born February 26, 1925 in Brenham, Texas, died on September 22, 2017 in La Grange, Texas at age 92.

Frank attended St. Mary's Catholic School, and graduated from Brenham High School in 1942. He was captain of football team, all-district. He attended Blinn Junior College on a basketball scholarship. In 1943, he hitchhiked to Houston with his cousin Bernie and began work with Sinclair Refinery as a pipe-fitter. He retired in 1985 as a maintenance supervisor.

In 1946, Frank served in the Army, 24th INF DIV as MP in Kyushu, Japan and was honorably discharged in 1948.

On February 4, 1950 Frank was united in marriage to Sireta Beaumier. They raised four children together. He and Sireta moved to Praha, Texas in 1985 where they became members of St. Mary's Catholic Church - Praha.

Frank’s life will be honored on Wednesday, September 27, 2017: visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. all at St. Mary's Catholic Church - Praha, 821 FM 1295, Flatonia, Texas. Graveside services to follow at 2:30 p.m, Prairie Lea Cemetery, 1004 Prairie Lea St., Brenham, Texas. Reverend Gabriel Maison will be the celebrant.
