Obituary

Gene Ray Glaeser, 59 of Bleiblerville, passed away at his home Saturday, February 25, 2017.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 1st from 6-8 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 2nd at 2 p.m. at Welcome Lutheran Church with Pastor John Sutton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Gene was born March 14, 1957 in Bellville to Wilbert and Helen (Lindemann) Glaeser. He was baptized May 19, 1957 and confirmed April 4, 1971 both at Welcome Lutheran Church, where he remained a life- long member. He graduated from Bellville High School. On April 15, 1978, Gene was married to Charlotte Helm at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. Gene worked as a truck driver. He was employed by Brenham Wholesale for 28 years and later was self-employed working with his son Craig. Gene also farmed and could often be seen driving his Kubota with his dog Jenny at his side. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and eating out with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Julian Bolcerek and parents-in-law Charlie and Mildred Helm.

Surviving loving family includes wife, Charlotte Sue Glaeser; sons, Gene Ray Glaeser, Jr., Craig Wayne Glaeser and wife Krystal; sisters, Bonnie Bolcerek and Darlain Surovik; sisters-in-law, Helen Blum and Marilyn Pawlak and husband Florian; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Todd Dierking, Gilbert Goeke, Gary Herr, Edwin Luedke, Dale Nichols, Mike Rogers, John Teufel and Ricky Wellbrock. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Anderson, David Blum, Ronnie Blum, Leroy Brending, Farris Colvin, Melvin Flentge, Larry Herr, Timothy Klaus, Doyle Krause, Steven Krenek, Mark Lehmann, Florian Pawlak, Scott Sanchez, Floyd Schomburg and Billy Sivek.

Memorials are requested to Welcome Lutheran Church or Texas Home Health Hospice.
