Obituary

Genelle Treesh passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation on Thursday, September 10, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, September 17 at Brenham Presbyterian Church, 900 Jackson Street, 979.836.7632. Interment at the Brazoria Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.

Genelle was born July 26, 1930 to Thomas Leroy and Maude Gayle Little in Houston County, Texas. She graduated from Crockett High School and Alvin Junior College and made a career in the medical field serving others. She retired from Dow Chemical Company’s Industrial Medicine as an occupational nurse for over twenty years. She lived most of her adult life in Brazoria, Texas before moving to Brenham in 2003. She never passed an antique store that she didn’t like, avidly collecting prime examples throughout her life. She never missed an Astros game on television and rooted exuberantly for her football teams, the Houston Oilers and Texans. Genelle was a lively, fun-loving, kind person who was affectionately known as Mammaw by her beloved grandchildren.

Genelle is survived by her sons Ricky Bush and wife Virginia, Rusty Bush and wife Lori, and Tim Treesh and wife Pam. Grandchildren include Megan (Bush) Knapp and husband Brad, Erica (Bush) Ross and husband Danny, John Bush, Jared Treesh and wife Abby, Tara (Treesh) McKittrick and husband Matt, RJ Veatch and fiancée Debbie Davis, and Tanner Treesh. She was blessed with nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Treesh, husband Harvey Treesh, sister Mavis Little Know and brother Thurman Little.

Family extends their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation and Traditions Health Care. Their loving care provided her comfort during her stay there.
