Gloria L. Izard

Gloria L. Izard passed away Wed., Feb. 22, 2012. She was born on Oct. 19, 1929 in New York City, NY to Walter and Gloria (Murray) Gardner. In the summer of 1965 she moved to Houston, TX with her husband and six children. Later she moved to Burton, TX in 1991.

Gloria was a faithful servant to her catholic community where she was involved in various ministries at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D. Franklin, husband, Norman Izard, stepson, Ken Izard, brothers-in-law, David Beland and William Franklin.

She leaves to cherish her memories her sister Joan Beland; children, Don and Linda Franklin, Ron and Carolyn Franklin, Susan Ellington, Debbie and Michael Derkowski, John Franklin, Robert Franklin; stepchildren, Lonnie and Sue Izard, Beverly Izard; grandchildren, Donovan Franklin, Cody (Elizabeth) and Casie Franklin, Forest and Austin Ellington, Michael Plummer (Misti), Mary (Josh) Sorensen, Brian Derkowski and Michelle Derkowski, John and Jennifer Franklin, Katrina and Robbie Franklin; seven great grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews, Jeanine, Lynette, Robert, Rosemarie and Stewart; step-grandchildren, Dale, Erica, Sara and Benjamin.

A visitation is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham with Rev. David Ivey, as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers are John Franklin, Cody Franklin, Forest Ellington, Austin Ellington, Brian Derkowski and Josh Sorensen.
