I was deeply sadden to hear about Gordon's passing. I first met Gordon and his wife when they lived in Houston. I was a very small child then. Gordon personally helped me open a savings account when he was President at South Central Savings. He was always a friend to me and my family. He was very kind and generous. I know he is in a better place now where there is no pain. My prayers are with the Parker family.

Sandra,
I was so sorry to hear about your Dad this week. My parents called and told me about it. We always loved you and Jeffrey was also a friend in school.
Just wanted to let you know I am thinking about you and your family. Take care and many hugs.

Sometimes there are just no words, but this is kind of a comforting thought.

The first time I met Gordon Parker was in 1968. We were both in the financial world in downtown Houston...I was with the Lanier interests at Main Bank and Gordon was with University S&L. He came to my desk and asked "where exactly is Brenham?" because he was being considered for leadership at the local South Central S&L. He was a fine man. He did things quietly with integrity. I have always cherished his friendship. May it comfort the family to know that I share in their grief.
Sincerely,
Mary Lou

Mr. Parker had a huge and positive impact on so many people. He was a role model - fair, candid, honest, and consistent. He will be missed by countless friends, but his legacy lives on through those that he influenced most. Rest in Peace.
