Obituary

Helen (Wehring) Bockhorn, 92, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, February 12, 2016.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Sunday, February 14 with funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, both at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Pastor Mark Groves will officiate, assisted by Pastor Walt Schindehette. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Helen was born on July 30, 1923 to Otto and Hedwig Wehring. She married Alfred Bockhorn on April 20, 1947. She was a hardworking and loving mother and wife. She and Alfred were active in their church. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, parents, three sisters, one brother, and grandson Jeffrey Bockhorn.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Rombach and husband Dale, son Larry Bockhorn and wife Barbara, son Marvin Bockhorn and wife Susan; grandchildren Michael Bockhorn, Sean Rombach and wife Krystle; great grandson Bryson Rombach; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Janet Wehring, Otto Jr. and Doris Wehring; brother-in-law Paul Zuehlke and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

After fighting health issues, Helen finally decided it was time to go home and join those who have gone before her, leaving behind family and friends whose lives she touched in many ways. Helen was a homemaker and supported her husband in managing their farm and ranch until after his death when she moved into town. Helen became an active member of Christ Lutheran Church and Trinity Medical Center Auxiliary. She was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 1996 and received numerous service awards.

Honoring Helen as pallbearers are: Johnny Rondorman, Joel Wehring, Ed Childres , Lee Nordt, Lonnie Grawunder, Jonathan Stark and Jeffrey Stark. Honorary pallbearers are past and present members of Trinity Medical Center Auxiliary (now Scott & White).

The family would like to thank all their friends and family for their love and support along with the entire staff at Brenham Memorial Chapel for their help and support.
