Obituary

Henry L. Derkowski, 87 of Chappell Hill and the husband of Theresa (Gurka) Derkowski, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 25 from 5 to 7 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 26 at 10 am in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill with Rev. Jozef Musiol and Monsignor John Malinowski, as Celebrants. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Henry was born September 15, 1927 in Chappell Hill to Pete and Wanda (Krotofil) Derkowski and attended Armstrong School. On October 25, 1947 he was united in marriage to Theresa Gurka in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He was a farmer and rancher and his interest in haymaking and raising cattle was his life. He was a life-long member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

His loving family include wife, Theresa Derkowski, children, Henry Jr. and Pat Derkowski, Larry and Becky Derkowski, Robert and Carol Derkowski, Linda and Mark Bilski, Sandra and Larry Cegelski, 11 grandchildren as follows Shawn and Carrie Derkowski, Shelly Derkowski, Brian Derkowski, Larry Jr. and Tammy Derkowski, Darren and Ashlie Derkowski, Robby Derkowski, Jessica and Brian Bronikowski, Brooke and Kass Copelin, Bridget and Cody Marburger, Ashlie and Michael Bachmann, Chelsea Cegelski and fiancée Joel Quinteros; 9 great-grandchildren and one due in November; sisters Rosie Wisnoski and Helen Meleski, sister-in-law Judy Derkowski, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, daughter Shirley, son Bernard, sister and brother-in-law Agnes and Charlie Wisnieske, brother Pete, Jr., brothers-in-law Willie Wisnoski and Callie Meleski all preceded him in death.

Pallbearers will be Henry Wilganowski and grandsons Shawn Derkowski, Brian Derkowski, Larry J. Derkowski, Jr., Darren Derkowski and Robby Derkowski. Honorary pallbearers will be Kass Copelin, Cody Marburger, Michael Bachmann, Brian Bronikowski and Joel Quinteros.

Memorials may be given to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
