Obituary

Henry Mazurkiewicz, 86, of Chappell Hill, passed away on August 28, 2016.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 1st, from 5 – 7 p.m. with rosary recited at 7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 2nd, at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Monsignor Benedict Zientek and Reverend Jozef Musiol, SDS,JCD as con celebrants.

Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.

Henry was born in Chappell Hill on July 14, 1930, to Steve and Francis (Jozwiak) Mazurkiewicz. On November 6, 1954, Henry married Leonarda Konieczny at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and made their home in Houston. Henry was employed by Alfred Manufacturing and later joined Texas Bolt as supervisor until his retirement. He returned to Chappell Hill to enjoy retirement.

Henry’s smile would light up any room and his jokes were enjoyed by all. He enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing, hunting, gardening, and making pickles, sausage and kishka. Henry always looked forward to seeing his friends at St. Stanislaus 50+ Club meetings. Henry was very proud of his Polish heritage and taking part in Polish festivals and listening to Polish music. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and treasured time spent with family. Grandchildren spent every summer with him. Whenever they’d ask, he would take them fishing and on boat and tractor rides. Henry is preceded in death by his parents, wife Leonarda and son-in-law Dominic “D.J.” DiPrimeo, Jr.

Henry is survived by his loving family including: daughters, Mary Lowe and husband Dennis of Houston, Natalie DiPrimeo of Cypress; grandchildren, Amber Hibdon and husband Collin, Nora Lowe and fiancé Jacob Bigley, and Hannah DiPrimeo; great grandson Lyle Hibdon; brothers, Pete Mazurkiewicz and wife Pauline, Alois Mazurkiewicz and wife Liz; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Mazurkiewicz, Daniel Faterkowski, Roger Mazurkiewicz, John Kendziora, J.J. Jozwiak and John Mikolajczak. Honorary pallbearers will be Chip Andreas and Victor Murski.
