Obituary

Hilda Cormier Meaux passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at home in Brenham, Texas.

Visitation will be from Noon until 6:00 P.M. at Broussard’s Mortuary in Winnie Texas on Friday, January 2, including a service at 3:00 P.M.

On Saturday, January 3, visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Brenham Memorial Chapel in Brenham, Texas with Funeral Services being held at 1:00 P.M. in Brenham Memorial Chapel, and interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery in College Station, Texas.

Hilda was born March 11, 1927, in Church Point, Louisiana, to parents Thomas and Louisa (Daigel) Cormier. She was the fifth of seven children: Willie Cormier, Beulah Thibodeaux, Iris White, Dalton Cormier, Sr., Murphy Cormier, and Lillie Bordelon. She attended both Trinity Church in Winnie, Texas, and the Vineyard Church of Brenham. Her life was filled with the love of God, family, music, and travel.

Hilda is survived by daughters, Georgia LaPointe Yoffe and husband Dr. Stuart J. Yoffe of Brenham, Faye LaPointe Reedy and husband Jeff Reedy of Winnie, one granddaughter, Amanda White Elliott and grandson-in-law, Robert Craig Elliott, four great grandchildren Robert Taylor Elliott, Garrison Maes Elliott, William Craig Elliott, Amelia Claire Elliott of Dallas; one step-granddaughter, Candice Reedy Farnie of Charlotte, North Carolina, and two sisters Beulah Thibodeaux of Branch, Louisiana, and Iris White of Goodyear, Arizona, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are C. J. Cormier, Sean Vincent, Ben Manning, Dalton Cormier, Jr., Farrell Bordelon, and Bobby Cormier.

Honorary pallbearers are her great grandsons: Taylor Elliott, Garrison Elliott and William Elliott.
