Joe Duard Autrey

Joe Autrey, 65 of Washington County passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015.

A visitation with the family will be from 6-8 pm, Friday, May 8, 2015 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. A celebration of his life will be held June 19th at the Rocky Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Joe Duard Autrey was born June 20, 1949 to Vernon Sr. and Bessie (Woods) Autrey in Navasota, Texas. He lived with his family in California and then Caldwell, Texas. On June 29, 1979, he married Theresa “Terri” LeBlanc. He worked as a carpenter with Preuss Construction, T. Wellmann Construction, Sentry Construction (4 Corners Shopping Center), Richard Conklin, and LADCO Construction. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Bessie Autrey.

Surviving family includes: wife, Terri Autrey; daughters and sons-in-law, Vanessa and Josh Dickinson, Kristin and Matt Sowders; son, Joseph Autrey; grandchildren John Allen Dickinson, Casey Dickinson, Elora Sowders; siblings and their spouses, Novella (Kenneth) Hronek, Carol (Freddie) Watson, Geraldine (Jerry) Ray, Larry Autrey, Jeff Autrey and special friend Kim Adley, Barbara (Michael) Schulz, Ellie Autrey, V.C. (Roxanne) Autrey; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials are requested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
