Johnny A. Gray

Johnny Gray, 38, of Brenham, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 21st from 8 a.m. until a memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Johnny was born in Houston to George Edward Smith, III and Terry Lynn Gray on March 10, 1978. The family moved to Somerville when he was a teenager. Johnny was a graduate of Somerville High School, where he played football. Johnny earned an Associate Degree from Texas State University. He spent many years working as a personal fitness trainer in Brenham and became a proud co-founder of Fitness Plus in Bellville.

Johnny lived life to the fullest. He loved time with his children and many amazing friends that he called family. He loved the outdoors, fishing and traveling. He had a green thumb and could make anything grow. Johnny was cheerful and wanted to celebrate Christmas all year long. He was compassionate and loved to help others. Even in death this continued, as he was an organ donor and saved many lives.

Johnny is survived by: his children, Jason Montgomery, Johnny Gray, Jr., his beautiful daughters Preslye Gray, Zoe Gray, and Alyssa Montgomery; his girlfriend, Chez Strickland and her two sons Aidan Strickland and Dylan Strickland; his siblings and their spouses, Audrey Smith and Angel Sanchez, Josh Graham, Dylan Adams, Joseph and Connie Smith; and numerous close friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
