Obituary

Kenneth Lee Wiley, age 90, passed away on January 22, 2017 at Kruse Village.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Brenham Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. W. Brent Hampton officiating. There will be private interment at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Ken was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Wellston, Oklahoma. He was the only child of Albert and Lena (Keener) Wiley. He graduated from Wellston High and enlisted 3 days later in the Army Air Corps. He served honorably in World War II. Upon discharge, he attended Oklahoma State (Oklahoma A & M) University graduating with a degree in finance in 1948. He also received an MBA from the University of Colorado. He was employed by Gulf Oil Corporation for 32 years. Upon taking early retirement, he worked for several more years in the oil and gas industry for Home Petroleum and Florida Gas and Exploration. He retired as president of KMI Production and Energy Holdings.

Ken was known for his love of family, having a quick wit and enjoying playing golf. Prior to moving to Brenham 11 years ago, he resided in the Champions area of Houston for over 29 years. There, he was a member of Northwoods Presbyterian and Champions Golf Club.

He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years Bernice "Billie" (Roark) Wiley and daughter Connie Jo Landreth.

He is survived by: two children, Cathy (Charles) Nitsch of Brenham and David (Rhonda) Wiley of Tomball, Texas; son-in-law, Mike Landreth of Rapid City, South Dakota; seven grandchildren, Kristen McPherson, Kenneth Landreth, Elizabeth Nitsch, Allison Nitsch, Marianne Nitsch, Avery Wiley and Candace Wiley; four great grandchildren, Weston, Jordyn, Trinity and Jason McPherson; and one great-great grandchild, Thad McPherson.

Special thanks go to caregivers Stacey Hopes and Jennifer Lopez, his friends at Kruse Village and especially to Brenham Presbyterian Church his church home since moving to Brenham from Houston 11 years ago.

Memorials may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley or Brenham Presbyterian Church.
