Obituary

Leon Robert Ralph Beach, 76, of Brenham, peacefully joined the Lord on September 19, 2014. Leon never met a stranger and his genuine smile warmed the hearts of everyone he encountered. He will be best remembered for his compassion, love and care for anyone he knew.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel, a Vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. Pallbearers will be; Greg Beach, Willie Beach, Tony Beach, Brian Beach Kevin Beach and David Doelitsch, Sr., his hunting buddies. Honorary Pallbearers include: Louis Tepera Jr., and Al Diamond.

Leon was born April 23, 1938 to Alois (AC) and Annie (Kleypas) Beach at Oenaville, Texas. He was baptized and confirmed at the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia, Texas. He attended Westphalia Catholic School and graduated from Rosebud High School in 1956. He served our Country as a member of the 49th Armored Division of the Texas National Guard and the US Army during the Berlin Crisis in 1961-1962.

On April 18, 1959, he married Anita Trdy at St Monica’s Catholic Church in Cameron, Texas. They were blessed with four children. Leon is survived by his wife, Anita; a son and his wife Kenneth Klay and Brenda of Brenham; three daughters and their husbands: Sandra Lee and Craig Wiesepape of Brenham; Kelli Marye and Mike Craddock of Austin; and Kimberly Michelle and Paul Jenkins of Katy. Leon was blessed with eight grandchildren, Christina Wiesepape, Lance Beach, Kara Beach and fiancé Cody Boeker, Shelby Wiesepape, Courtney Wiesepape, Sloan Jenkins, Sophia Jenkins and Cole Craddock; brothers and sisters: Evelyn and Randy Green, Beatrice Arnold, Geraldine and Melvin Voigt, Gerald and Janis Beach, Terry and Beverly Beach, David and Sydney Beach, Detta Zomnir and Kathy Webber. Leon is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sister; Dennis Beach, Jerome Beach, Alan Beach, Rose Irving and Art Beach.

Leon was employed by Southwestern Bell, Comstock Construction, Brenham Sausage Company and Wireless One. After retiring, he enjoyed vegetable gardening, hunting, family get-togethers and entertaining family and friends with his wit and wisdom.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a charter member of the St. Louis K of C in Austin, a member of St Joseph Council in Brenham and a Boy Scout Leader. He was an Honorary Life Member of Brenham BPOE 979. He held BPOE positions at the local, state and Grand Lodge levels. Most recently served as the Director of the Texas Elk’s Children’s Services for the Central District.
