Obituary

Lillian Sophie Eimann Albers was called home by her heavenly Father on February 5, 2017.

She was born in Gay Hill on December 30, 1922, to W.B. and Annie Eimann and baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill. At the age of 4, she moved to Brenham and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was confirmed on Palm Sunday of 1937. After graduating high school in 1940, she entered Blinn Junior College. It was there that she met her future husband, Ernest N. Albers. After graduating from Blinn Junior College, Lillian began her teaching career at Sandy Hill. After two years teaching, she took time out from her career path to assist in distributing wartime rations to people in need. After this, she followed her dream to attend the university and headed to UT where she obtained her degree in business in 1946. Following graduation, she moved to Rosenberg where she taught high school for two years. On June 20, 1948, she and Ernie were wed at St. Paul’s in Brenham and began a union that lasted 68 years and was blessed with 2 daughters. She and Ernie moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she spent the rest of her 36 year teaching career. She spent many years teaching business classes, such as shorthand, typing, business machines, etc. to high school students. Lillian was an exceptional teacher and loved helping others learn, being named “teacher of the year” during her career. In 2004, after living more than 56 years in Corpus Christi, she and Ernie returned to Brenham.

Lillian’s greatest love was her family. As a mother, her love was without comparison, giving sacrificially of her time, energy and money. Her selfless generosity and positive attitude created the foundation and heart of a close-knit family. She found great joy in time shared with her family and extended family. She loved visits and calls from her grandchildren, in whom she took utter delight and gave each her undivided attention and unconditional love. Each child and grandchild felt special and more confident after spending time with her and knew that they had their own special place in her heart. She had a warm smile that spread joy to many and expressed the love she had for her Savior. During her life, Lillian was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Corpus and Grace Lutheran in Brenham. She was strong, yet kind and gentle, exhibiting Christ’s love and concern for others in her daily living. Her life bore witness to her faith. She loved to play bridge and was a master at cooking and baking pies.

Left behind to cherish many fond memories are her daughters: Marilyn Albers Kelinske, M.D. and husband Darryl and Betty Albers Browne, DDS, and husband David, her four grandchildren: Darran Dale Kelinske, Katie Kelinske Krause and Christine Elaine Kelinske of Austin and William Garrett Browne of Houston, her great-granddaughter Brynnlee Jane Krause as well as her nieces. Meeting Lillian in heaven are her husband Ernie, her parents William Benjamin Eimann, Sr. and Annie Kneschke Eimann, her sister Rosalie Eimann Kolb and her brothers William Benjamin, Jr, Gilbert , Charles and Luther Eimann.
