Obituary

Marilyn Naumann, 68 of Brenham, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9th from 5-7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10th at 10 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Marilyn was born April 19, 1948 in Brenham to Calvin and Selma (Peters) Naumann. She was baptized June 6, 1948 at St. John Lutheran Church Prairie Hill and confirmed April 15, 1962 at Zion Lutheran in Schulenburg. She attended Grace Lutheran School and was a 1966 graduate of Brenham High School. Marilyn was employed in banking as a teller for many years, beginning her career at Washington County State Bank. In later years, she and many family members worked at Topper’s.

Marilyn enjoyed the outdoors, especially doing yard work. She cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. Lovingly they called her “MeMe”. Marilyn was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, singing in the choir and serving on the altar guild.

She was preceded in death by parents and sister Sharon Brown.

Surviving family includes: sister, Pat Byrd Wright and husband Hoot; brother-in-law, Jim Brown; nephews and spouses, Heath and Carrie Byrd, Doug Brown, Matthew and Renee Brown; great niece and nephews, Isabel, Wyatt and Tyler Byrd and Andrew and Aiden Brown; aunts Mae Dufilho and Margaret Peters; numerous cousins.

Pallbearers will be Heath Byrd, Doug Brown, Matthew Brown, Gerald Krause, David Reue and Eric Baranowski.

Memorials are requested to Grace Lutheran Church.
