Obituary

Mary Elizabeth (Rosner) Wesneski, 78, passed away December 31, 2014 at her home in Houston. Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Houston. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Jerome. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Brenham.

Mary was born December 9, 1936 in Brenham to John M. and Mary (Urbaniak) Rosner. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School. On February 11, 1956, she married Steve Wesneski in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mary and Steve were “pioneers” of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Houston, where she served on the altar society for 25 years. She was devoted to her church and family. Mary had a generous spirit.

Mary is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Steve Wesneski; children and spouses, Shirley and Dan Atwood of Waco, Steven Ray Wesneski of Houston, Donnie and Debbie Wesneski of Brenham; grandchildren, Aron and Jenny Wesneski, Justin Kidd, Arianna Atwood, Josh Atwood, Kristi and Greg Harris, Angela Wesneski; great-grandchildren, Payton, Taylor and Addyson Wesneski, Lane, Presley and Paige Harris; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Eugene Calaway; sister-in-law, Pearl Rosner; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: parents; grandson, David Wesneski; sisters and brothers-in-law, Leona and Ike Konieczny, Martha and Theodore Jozwiak, Eva and Mike Gaetz, Barbara Rosner; brother Joe Rosner.

Pallbearers will be Leon Konieczny, Eugene Gaetz, Thomas Wesneski, Aron Wesneski, Justin Kidd, Josh Atwood.

Memorials are requested to the David Wesneski Scholarship Fund at Bank of Brenham, 501 S. Austin St., Brenham, TX 77833 for Brenham High School students in wildlife studies.
