Mat Hobgood

Mat Wayne Hobgood, age 49, of Brenham passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Visitation is today, Thursday, May 22 from 5-7 p.m. and the funeral service is Friday, May 23 at 1 p.m. both at Brenham Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Blair Lundborg will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Mat was born February 22, 1965 to parents Larry S. and Elaine (Boudreaux) Hobgood in Lubbock, Texas and where he attended school before the family relocated to Brenham. He was self-employed in the appliance business in Brenham.

His loving family survives: parents Larry and Elaine Hobgood; son Dylan Hobgood; daughter Amber Contreras; sister Marty Deel; granddaughers Autumn and Audrey; nieces Sydne Hobgood, Hannah Hogbood and Andrea Kellum .

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael.
