I wish I had a chance to know Merri! But I was privileged to know Joe Kelly and Merri's lovely mother, Honky Butler. I am the daughter of Jim and Donna Franklin! I know that my parents were honored to be a part of Merri's life. And she was a joy in theirs!!! Many times Donna discussed with me the gifts and surprises she had planned for Merri's birthdays, Christmas's etc... She always talked about how Merri liked to go out to eat and then out for Blue Bell ice cream afterwards. I wish only the best for the Butler and Franklin Families in this difficult time. My love and prayers are with them.

I well remember working with Ms. Butler's father and brother in transporting Merri from New York to Brenham via their personal airplane. Judy Herms and Ellen Wiese assisted with her movement to Texas. Merri was always so enthusiastic and joyful and a hard worker as well. Her father, Joe Kelly Butler, was on the state board of directors of TXMHMR when Brenham was selected as a site for a state supported living facility. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and the care givers who provided for Ms. Merri Larsen Butler.
