Obituary

Olivia Pieper, 96 of Brenham passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility, Bryan.

Viewing will begin Tuesday, August 11th at 8 a.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12th at 10 a.m. in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Goeke, Will Pieper, Charles Kokemor, Kenneth Pieper, Lynn Pieper, Clemence Weiss.

Olivia was born April 18, 1919 to Fred and Minnie (Kramer) Maass. She attended Harrisburg School. On December 20, 1941, she married Erwin Pieper in Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville.

Olivia worked hard alongside her husband farming. She enjoyed gardening and canned the harvest. Olivia was a wonderful cook and loved baking bread and apple pie, her grandchildren’s favorite.

Preceding her in death were: parents, husband, sisters Lillie Kokemor and Mamie Kokemor, brother Walter Maass.

Surviving loving family includes: daughter, Ruth Goeke and husband Burgess DeWane; son, James Pieper and wife Julie; grandchildren, John and Michelle Goeke, Sarah and Todd Johnson, Will and Kim Pieper; great-grandchildren, LeAnn and Heath Goeke, Josiah and Jill Johnson, and Poppy Olivia Pieper.

A heartfelt thanks to all her caregivers for their loving care so that she could remain at home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salem.
