Obituary

Ottilie “Tillie” (Brinkmeyer) Williams, age 94, passed away February 9, 2015. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 12 at 2 p.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastor Toby Burk officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Tillie was born in Independence, Texas, the daughter of Alvina (Heidemann) and Karl Frederick “Charlie F.” Brinkmeyer on December 7, 1920. She was baptized in early infancy in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of the Sandy Hill and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Rev. Paul Gogolin.

Tillie attended grade school in Independence, Texas and was a 1940 graduate of Brenham High School. She was retired from the Brentex Mills, and later was employed at Brenham Rest Home. She took care of her grandchildren from time to time. She enjoyed sewing, watching baseball on TV, “Jeopardy”, “The Price is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune”. She was a good cook and enjoyed being with her family.

Tillie was married in 1940 to Walter Eickenhorst. He preceded her in death. On August 22, 1959, she married John T. Williams in First Baptist Church of Brenham. John preceded her in death March 3, 1987.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, two brothers, Robert and Elroy Brinkmeyer, brothers-in-law, LeeRoy Fritz, Daniel Wilke and George Kingston, sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Kingston and Evyonne Dannhaus.

She is survived by her children, Gladys and Arthur “Bill” Williams, Katie and Luther Hueske, James Elwood and Renee Williams; step-children, Tommie and Gay Nell Williams, and Jimmie Williams; grandchildren, Bobby and Lanette Williams, Mark and Sharon Williams, Wade Hueske and special friend Georgette Konieczny, John Hueske, Mitchell Williams and Mason Williams; great-grandchildren, Robyn and Shannon Payne, Jamie and Justin O’Brien and Carter Williams.

Other family members who survive include a brother, Melvin Brinkmeyer and wife, Pauline of South Dakota, sister, Annie Marie Fritz of Brenham and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Brinkmeyer of Houston and Nelda Wilke of Brenham; brother-in-law, Elwood Dannhaus of Brenham and Willie Williams of Spring. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Bobby, Mark, Wade, John, Carter, Justin and Shannon. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Mason and Mitchell.

Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church, Hospice of Brazos Valley or Washington County Healthy Living Association.
