Patsy Veazey Elza Gilby

Patsy Veazey Elza Gilby, age 86, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2016 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton. Private burial will be in Grapevine, Texas.

Pat was born August 13, 1929 in Bluffton, Texas to Lavita V. Davis Veazey and Walter L. Veazey. She graduated with honors from Burnet High School in 1946 and was voted Class Favorite for the years 1945 and 1946.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Issac and Wesley Veazey; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Sydney Schneiderman and grandson, Brian Ward Gilby.

Pat is survived by: her husband, Lee H. Gilby, son and daughter-in-law, Charles Jeffery and Patti Ellis; granddaughter, Leah Anne Reiss; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorrace Carroll, Molly and Howard Waggoner, Billie and Gerald Donaldson; step-sons and daughters, Donna and Terry Simmons, Dee Ann Kennedy, Gary Gilby, Bruce Gilby, Brian Gilby, Lee E. Gilby; special granddaughter, Hilary LaRochel Lowry and her husband Spencer; along with many loving and caring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
