Melinda and Sam,

My heart is with yours. Thank you again for allowing me to spend time with your beautiful Angel, Rachel. The journey has been long. You two have been a source of strength and support for me. Believe there is beauty in all things and know that Rachel is surrounded by that perfect love and beauty now, luminous and free, no longer bound by Batten disease. In the days to come, try to look for the joy in life as Rachel watches over you now and just keep on putting one foot in front of the other.

Dear Sam and Melinda, I have long prayed for your family since hearing of Luke and Rachel's disease many years ago. Even though we have not seen each other for many years, I want you to know I think of you all in Texas often. We are fortunate to come from a large and loving family, we share many memories from our childhoods in Myrtle Beach for family reunions. I know that it is my loss that I never met your children, but knowing you, I know them also. Love you my cousins, and may the Lord bless you and keep you in his arms! God bless!

I will miss Rachel dearly! She had the best laugh, was by far the most fashionable person I've known and struggled graciously with the most unforgiving of diseases, Batten Disease. She has the best family, and I feel fortunate to have known her and the Watson's. I am so sorry for your loss, but so comforted by the beautiful obituary and by having known Rachel.

Though I never met this beautiful soul, I celebrate with the Angels as she winds her way toward the heavens. With a pure heart filled with love for all, I know she will stand ready to greet all the beautiful little pets who enter Rainbow Bridge. To her family, I thank you for showing her a life of love! It sounds like she was truly a special young lady who was loved by many!

Sam and Family: I am so saddened by your loss. As a parent and a friend,I wish I could find the words to express that, and to give you comfort, but they escape me. My thoughts and prayers are with you, as well as with another Aggie in heaven.

Sam. Please accept our deepest sympathies. I know you and Melinda were blessed to have Rachel for the time you did and made the most of every moment you were given. You will see her again as I know the Father has prepared a special room in his house for Rachel and a special room for you and your family given all of the sacrifice, love, affection and care that you have shown in your stewardship of such a precious gift (John 14: 1-3). May God bless you and the peace of Christ be with you always.
