Obituary

Regina (Minar) Bilski, 90, of Brenham, passed away peacefully in her home with family and friends celebrating her ninety-first birthday on Sunday, December 11, 2016.

Visitation will begin at 5:30 until 7:00 p.m., at which time a rosary will be prayed in Brenham Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 15. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 16 also in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Deacon Al Prescott as officiant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Regina was born in Frelsburg, Texas on December 13, 1925 to parents Mathis and Annie (Motl) Minar. Regina married Edward Bilski and moved to Brenham in the late 1940s. The two of them had three beautiful children. Regina was preceded in death by her husband in 1963 and years later by her only son Gilbert. Ms. Bilski never gave up. She continued to work and provide for her family. Regina also known as "Redge" or "Granny" worked cattle, hay, cotton fields, gardens, picked thousands of pounds of pecans and cared for numerous children whom Granny had tremendous impact on. Everyone learned something from her. She put everyone's needs before her own and continued to do so until the end. She truly did "live off the land." She was so special to so many. If you knew her you knew that she was one of the hardest working women you would ever meet. She had spunk! She had sass! She was sweet and sour! She told it you how it was! She was a firecracker and she was perfect! She was the strongest woman many will ever know and she is finally able to rest. No one deserves it more than her. Granny will forever be remembered and forever be missed by anyone's life she touched. Rest easy ladybug.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy “Dot” and Ben Schroeder Jr., Rose and Robert Morgenstern; grandchildren, Keith Schroeder & wife Rhonda, Courtney Percic and partner Chase Woodlock, John Percic & wife Kelly; great-grandchildren, Kodi Schroeder, Kaitlin Schroeder, Kaden Schroeder along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steve Bilski Jr., Donald Bilski, Daniel Bilski, David Majewski, Mark Suehs, Dustin Bilski, Justin Bilski and Quinten Bilski.
