Dear Horace & family, Linda knew you & your family when she went to church when she was just a kid. Lavern & June Baker were her parents. I knew Gary from 9th thru 12 grades. We visited with him when he came to Jerry Holt's church to preach. It was so good to visit with him.
He was such a nice guy. You have our condolences for your loss. You are all in our thoughts & prayers.
Love, Bill Johnson

Darlene and family,

My deepest sympathy to you and your children for the death of a super nice guy. Gary and I went to Longfellow Jr. High and Enid High together. He was always such a nice guy. I attended the reunion of the basketball players from the state champions of (1960) held a couple years ago. Was so good to see Gary and Darlene and visit with them. Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers. With love, Jovita (Traynor)Lang

I grew up attending a small country church where we all knew one another as family, friends and neighbors. After moving to Brenham, I struggled to find a church where I felt the welcome and warm "family feel" of the church where I grew up and the type of church I wanted my children to attend. Then we visited First Christian Church. Gary, Judy and the entire congregation made us feel as if we had come "home". As a family, we will always be grateful to Gary for providing the type of leadership that created such a warm and welcoming place and for the example he set as a true Christian. We will miss him. On August 14, I lost my younger brother to cancer. It comforts me to know that he and Gary are now free of pain and together in God's presence. Our deepest sympathy, love and prayers to the Jeter family.

Gary, Corrine and family, Roger and I loved your Dad. We met him for the 1st time when we first moved to Brenham and were looking for a church home.

We enjoyed visiting with him at your home and loved celebrating the holidays with all of you. Roger really enjoyed the music!!!!

He was a wonderful man who the Lord greeted and said "Well done my good and faithful servant!"

You are in my thoughts and in my prayers! God bless you.

Love you, Jo Ann

May God give you the comfort that only He can give. May the Holy Spirit minister peace and love to you as you progress through your time of saying your earthly "goodbye," knowing that you will be together again in your forever heaven home. Pastor Jeter will always be remembered here as a loving, kind, generous and thoughtful servant of the Lord.
