Obituary


Richard Kasprowicz, 68 of Chappell Hill, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016.

Visitation with the family will be in Brenham Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 5 until 7 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, September 23, 2016, at 2 p.m. with Father Jim Deaconson as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Richard Carl Kasprowicz was born in Brenham on April 1, 1948, to Julian and Meta (Schulze) Kasprowicz. Richard attended St. Mary’s School and was a 1966 Brenham High School graduate.

In 1967, Richard joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Despite being injured and receiving The Purple Heart medal during his first tour of duty in Vietnam, Richard returned for a second tour. After returned home, and was employed by the City of Brenham Utilities Department. Richard retired as the superintendent of the electrical department with over 30 years of service.

Richard enjoyed “the country life”, raising horses and cattle and especially, spending time with family.

Surviving loving family includes: his life partner, Anne Keady; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Cathy Kasprowicz, Jason and Arona Kasprowicz , Dusty and Kaci Kasprowicz; grandsons, Justin, Kristian and wife Genesis, Kody, Braylen, and Jaylen Kasprowicz; “bonus daughter”, Mandy Bernhardt and husband Cody; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Tom Clark, Frances and Ben Bernshausen; brother, Paul Kasprowicz; brother-in-law, Andy Leadbetter along with his nieces and nephews and the mother of their sons, Clara Kasprowicz.

Richard was preceded in death by parents and sisters Mary Kasprowicz and Virginia Leadbetter.

Pallbearers will be Louis Garcia, Luis Duran, Eduardo Duran, Keith Dallmeyer, Kristian Kasprowicz and Kody Kasprowicz. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin, Braylen and Jaylen Kasprowicz and Leonard Borchgardt, Jimmie Loesch and Babe Wassermann.
