Obituary

Robert Wellmann, 90, of Brenham passed away Tuesday, August 29 in Brenham.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, August 31 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held in Grace Lutheran Church at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 1 with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William H. Holzer officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery

Robert was born in the Meyersville Community of Washington County on September 5, 1926 to parents Henry Wellmann Sr and Ida (Neumann) Wellmann. He was baptized December 12, 1926 by Pastor Wm. Seidel at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. He was confirmed April 6, 1944 by Pastor Kurt Hartmann; his confirmation verse was: “Be Thou Faithful until Death and I Will Give You a Crown of Life.” On November 17, 1946 he was united in marriage to Selma Loesch at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville,

In 1953 he and his wife started Wellmann Upholstery and Furniture. He retired in 2002 to help care for his wife, but he continued to be involved in ranching. Robert enjoyed dancing, listening to country music, going to the auction on Fridays, and watching RFD television. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His loving family includes: son and daughter-in-law David and Kim Wellmann; daughter and son-in-law Dorothy and Ronnie Holle; son-in-law Alan Siemsglusz and wife Myrna; grandchildren Stacy Aschenbeck, Kyle Holle, Steven and Adrienne Siemsglusz, Alison and Kevin Dreyer, Lindsey and Travis Eckert, Matthew and Julia Wellmann, Blake Wellmann; great-grandchildren Reid, Mia and Zane Aschenbeck, Brayden Holle, Addison, Bryce and Collin Siemsglusz, Lane and Will Dreyer, Wayne Eckert; brother and sister-in-law Ernest and Erline Wellmann; sisters-in-law Hilda Lorenz, Alma Kenjura, Rose Lee Lohmeyer, Ella Flynt, Edna Schroeder; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, and caregivers Gabby Lechuga and Donald Lewis.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 70 years Selma Loesch Wellmann on
January 3, 2017, infant son Ricky Wellmann, daughter Laverne Siemsglusz, parents Henry, Sr. and Ida Neumann Wellmann, brothers and sisters-in-law Henry, Jr. and Hilda Wellmann, Eddie and Ella Wellmann, Herbert and Hilda Wellmann, Raymond and Carrie Mae Wellmann, Harry and Lenora Wellmann, sisters and brothers-in-law Lillie and Bill Behnke, Lonie and Willie Addicks, father-in-law and mother-in-law Otto C. and Meta Noerenberg Loesch, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Melvin and Lydia Loesch, Arnold and Bonnie Loesch, Elsie and Raymond Tegeler, Norma and Louis Meschwitz, James Buchanan, Roy Lorenz, Charlie Kenjura, Clarence Lohmeyer, Truman Flynt, Charlie Schroeder.

Pallbearers will be Reid Aschenbeck, Kyle Holle, Steven Siemsglusz, Matthew Wellmann, Blake Wellmann, Kevin Dreyer and Travis Eckert. Honorary pallbearers will be all his great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.
