Shirley Jean (Davis) King

Shirley Jean (Davis) King passed away on August 26, 2015 after several years of dementia.

Shirley was born April 13, 1936 in Meridian, Mississippi to J.P. and Jesse Tingle. She moved to Texas and married Doyle King in 1987. She was a true Southern cook, gardener and never met a stranger. She loved everyone and was the first one to be there to help.

Shirley was predeceased by sons, Kenneth Harold Davis and Charles Lowery Davis. She leaves behind: husband, Doyle King; her eldest son, Eugene Davis, Jr. of Palm Springs, CA; brothers, J.P. Tingle of San Antonio, TX, Milton Tingle of Sacramento, CA and Wayne Tingle of Meridian, MS.

The family held a private graveside service at Old Salem Cemetery near Hempstead, TX.

Services are in the care of Brenham Memorial Chapel, 2300 Stringer, Brenham, TX 77833.
