Obituary

Wade Thornton was born in Texas City, TX on September 15, 1978. He is the youngest of 3 children to Chuck and Dee Thornton. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Addison Cay Thornton 10 years old and Kyla Reese Thornton 7 years old, his sisters, Stephanie Thornton of Bastrop and Samie Wessinger of Brenham, brother-in-law Erick Wessinger, nieces and nephews Corey Adams, Austin Merrill, Michael Wessinger, Audrey Wessinger, Leah Wessinger, Jacob Wessinger, and his lifelong best friend, Jacob Landry of Austin.

Wade spent his high school years in Brenham where he graduated with many longtime, classmate friendships. He was active in 4-H, played baseball, basketball & football. While attending Texas State University, he enjoyed working for & later owning a successful business in San Marcos. He eventually sold that company to start a new adventure in Key West, Florida. There he met his wife and had his first baby. After dodging five hurricanes, he moved his family to North Carolina. With his computer drafting skills, he went to work for a company that had him working on the complex design of the NASCAR Hall of Fame building. Later, he went to work doing inspections for power plants & refineries. Wade worked in & out of the U S for several years. In 2013, he started his own very successful design & inspection company. He based his company in Boston to be close to his daughters. His love for them was the driving force for his success & happiness. Besides many clients in the United States, he had extensive projects in Vietnam, Malaysia and Canada.

Wade loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, snow skiing, showing & riding cutting horses, motorcycling, 4-wheeling with his daughters, bungee jumping, playing cards & partying with his friends. He was a fun person to be around, loved to laugh & joke. His “brother” Jake & him were almost inseparable in school & continued to be close ever since. He was a loyal friend & had many. We all still laugh at the many great memories of Wade & Jake and their crazy stunts. His fun personality & wit made him many friends everywhere he went.

He will be greatly missed. We are left with the great comfort of knowing he gave his life to Jesus when his sister led him to the Lord.

Isaiah 57:1-2 1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. 2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
