Obituary

Troy Jene Glasco, 52, joined his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 26, 2014.

Troy was born to the late Albert Jene, ‘AJ’, and Teresa Glasco on September 26, 1961, in Houston, Texas. After graduating Waller High School, he went on to attend Blinn Junior College. Troy was baptized at Waller Baptist Church in 1980.

Troy found the love of his life at an early age. Troy and Tami were high school sweethearts; he even proposed to Tami at her senior prom. They were married on December 18, 1981, and never stopped acting like newlyweds. Christ was always at the center of their relationship, and they set an example of a Godly and joyful marriage for almost 33 years. They were blessed with four beautiful daughters in the first few years of marriage. Tori, Haley and Paige along with their husbands have all made their homes and started their families here in Brenham. Nothing brought Troy greater joy than being surrounded by his family, especially his five grandchildren. He loved his role as Gpa (“Poo-pa” to some of the kids), and spent as much time playing, teaching, and loving on his precious grandkids as possible. Troy and Tami built their home and their lives around their growing family, and always had an open door to welcome family and friends. Troy always said that God had blessed him greatly so that he could be a blessing to others. His generosity of spirit and willingness to open his home to anyone, demonstrated that daily.

Troy started Glasco & Co. Landscaping in 1980, with just a single push mower and a whole lot of hard work. Since then, he and Tami have grown the company to employ over 70 men and women. Troy always conducted his business as if his work were worship to the Lord, and set a high standard for excellence, integrity, and strong work ethic. He truly cared for and highly respected each and every one of his employees.

Troy was also a founding elder of Champion Fellowship. He considered it a high honor to serve and lead in the church, and was passionate about making disciples and equipping others to serve. It was impossible to be around Troy without him sharing about his love for the Lord. He was always looking for ways to bring unity within the churches in Brenham and how we could all serve our community better together. Troy loved the Lord and was truly a man after God’s own heart. His relationship with God, his family, and commitment to serving our community were the most important things in his life.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Colossians 3:23-24

This verse truly describes the way Troy lived his life each day. We know with full confidence that the Lord greeted Troy saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
