Troy J. Glasco - Guestbook

Troy's testimony still rings out today, I hear about him and his beautiful spirit and personality; hearing what I have heard inspires me in my life of "who am i reflecting".

Only recently heard about this via Audie Alcorn. Troy and I were in the same graduating class at Waller H.S. I was there only 2.5 year, but he made a great impression on everyone and it sounds like that continued through his life. My condolences to Tami and all family and friends.

Tami and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I was stunned when Karen Andrus called me and told me about Troy. I often tell people what an amazing man Troy was to me. He helped me through some very troubling times. I will always remember and think of him. My prayers are with your family.

Dear Tammi and family, was so saddened to hear of the passing of Troy. He was the true love of your life. He touched so many peoples lives. Though you and your family moved from Waller you were never forgotten. Troy graduated a year head of us Class of '81 he always had a way of making me smile especially in Mrs. Frey's typing class. You and your family have been in my prayers since I learned of his tragic death. God always take the good ones way too soon. May God grant you and your daughters and their families peace during this time of sorrow. Please tell Mrs. Glasco how sorry I am about her great loss as well. You may remember Brannan's Grocery Store. That was my husband's grocery store the only grocery store in Waller back then. May God bless all of your families.

Dear Tami and Family,

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about your loss. My mother, called me this morning to let me know. I remember our school days together at Waller and Troy and Tami sitting across the table from me in the high school cafeteria......and Tami, always wanting to drink that Diet Dr. Pepper, so Troy wouldn't see one single extra pound on you Tami. To this day, I cannot forget that. Even though we have lost track over the years, as the last time I saw Tami was at our 20 year class reunion, I knew that the love you two had was forever. So with that I will close, saying, that may you treasure the many memories you had together and know that you will see him once again in God's eternal resting place.

I pray that you will find comfort in the days to come.

Love to you Tami and your children and family,

Tami, Teresa, Timmy and entire Glasco Family:
It was such a privilege to be in the presence of a young Troy and his wonderful honerable, loving family so many years ago in Waller. My heart breaks for your loss and my prayers go with you in the difficult days ahead. Troy represented all the GOOD in his family and went on to share all that and his love for his Heavenly Father. How proud he made all of us. May he rest in peace now.

I went to the same high school with Troy. I did not know Christ at the time. I have been a believer now for 30 years. I would have love to listened to Troy's testimony of how God brought him to salvation. I remember him in school as a tenacious athlete. He was fearless. We played against Eric Dickerson, formally of the Los Angeles Rams, everyone ran out of bounds when this horse was on the field, but not Troy Glasco. He took him head on. I envied Troy's ability to play the drums. In high school I always wanted to be in a rock band, but was horrible. Troy could play the drums perfectly to many bands' songs. I know He used his talent for Christ. I am now and have been teaching in Christian Education for 25 years. I never had an opportunity to fellowship with Troy as a Christian. I heard he that he was a Christian from a friend at a high school reunion years ago. Troy and I were teammates on a baseball team; I did not like warming up with him because he threw the ball so hard. I remember Tammi and her sister Traci living next door to my family on Pine Island Road close to Prairie View. I look forward to glory when we will be joined with our Lord and family of God. Tammi- I know your heart is crushed. When I lost my Dad several years ago; it made heaven more real to me knowing that I would see them again. I don't know if you remember that skinny kid next door who raised those pigs, but I sure hope I can get to know your family better in the future. I have been married for 30 years; I teach at Castle Hills First Baptist School; I have two sons and one daughter.( two getting married this year, one allready married). I pray that the love of God and others will comfort your heart. I never knew what became of you and Troy. I found out this news through my sister on facebook. I so much would have loved for you to have met my family and I yours. Life was very rocky for me in my early years, but God was pleased to save me after my first year out of high school. I write all this just to shine the light on God's grace. He is truly good. From a stupid, lost high school dude, to a born again believer in Chist, may God bless you real good : THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

You are all so special to me and so many others. Kyle's words last night rang so true, our city is mourning your loss. I keep trying to look up because I know Troy is up there watching over all of you and God has brought him Home before anyone on earth was ready to let go. We cannot know the reason but all of you know you will be with him again some day. Troy's legacy lives on thru each of you every day. Please know you are loved and cherished by everyone who knows you.

Dear Glasco Family,
I don't know you all personally, but I felt compelled to share my sympathy because I so admire your family. What a wonderful person Troy was to so many people and to our God! It is evident in all the condolences that he touched many lives. I always admired your family when seeing you in public...a beautiful husband and wife and beautiful daughters and now extended families. I have always admired your business and the creative beauty you make with anything you touch. What a tragedy to lose such a perfect man much to early. I know his celebration of life must have been amazing at your beautiful farm. May fond memories of every single day spent together help comfort you in the days ahead. You are in the thougths and prayers of many in this community. His legacy will live on in many ways!

Dear Tami and Glasco family

We know that today is the memorial service for Troy and an extremely difficult day for you. You have been in our thoughts and prayers all day. Our hearts hurt for you. We had great respect, and admiration for Troy. He's about the same age as our daughters, and we identify with him to an extent in that way. What a wonderful person he was. We will all see him again one day.

God be with you all and surround you with His love.

Troy and I met many years ago when he first came to Brenham and began his business. I enjoyed watching his business grow from those humble beginnings to the great success it is today without any change in his wonderful personality. Troy will be missed but I feel so happy that I had the good luck to know him as I did. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

Tami, you and your family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Troy provided mentorship for Lucas when he started his company. Lucas would ask a question, and Troy always took the time out of his day to give an in depth answer.

I also had the privilege of hearing Troy speak at our MOPS Dad Panel two years ago, and I am so thankful for that opportunity. He provided us with laughter and an awesome insight into a Godly man.

He will be sorely missed by many, but he leaves a legacy of caring, laughter and unfailing love behind. Thank you for sharing him with us! We have no doubt that Heaven has gained a mighty voice to praise God!

We just want to add our sympathies in the loss of Troy. I personally have always thought of Troy as a great example of what it means to be a Christian Man.
In all & any contact with him, I and probably everyone, came away feeling the peace and love God had put in his heart. I know he touched hundreds of lives, but there's so many more that Troy made a difference for, not in anything he did, but just in how he lived and the example he set to be a man of God, to stand firm, to never compromise on the important things and above all to show love for others. We all feel his loss here on Earth, but rejoice that he is with his Father now. We pray for strength and comfort for you in this time. God Bless

Dear Glasco Family-
My wife, Luanne, was Troy's hair-dresser. Lu would always tell me how much she enjoyed when Troy was in. She said they would talk family all the time. We have daughters, just like Troy & Tammi, and, Lu always enjoyed Troy's stories and experiences on raising girls. I feel like those conversations help to mold our daughters into who they are today. Lu has said she will truly miss having Troy in her chair, and, having those good conversations ! Rest in Peace Troy, and, thanks for being such a kind, and wonderful person.

Not everyday brings small miracles like a phone book by the side of the road, but God can help you through challenges and supply your needs through his amazing grace. My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4-19. God loves you.

Dear Tami - Our hearts are so heavy for you. It's very hard to come up with the right words to say. There is nothing we can say that will take away your pain...just know that we have been praying for you since we first heard Saturday evening. Y'all were one of the first couples we met when we moved to Brenham in 2003, and visited First Baptist. Troy was so kind and friendly to us as you were too! We saw y'all again when we visited Champion Fellowship a few years later. Same smiles, same friendliness. God eventually led us to Christ Church, which merged with House of Worship, and now is Redeemer Church. We are all of the same body - the body of Christ!

God is a big God and He will hold you and sustain you...

Tami and family,

One of the blessings of spending all my growing up years in a small town like Waller is getting to know my classmates like Troy from elementary all the way through high school graduation. Everyone liked Troy and he was kind and nice to all. I only saw him a couple of times since graduation, but it is evident from the witness of those who love him that he remained that way. His faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and his service to Him have touched and will continue to touch others. I pray God's comfort to you, Tami, and your family. Your family will be in my prayers.

Sweet Tami,
I am so sorry and saddened that you are having to deal with your loss at such a young age. Oh how I remember you and Troy as high school sweethearts. Two of the sweetest students that I ever was associated with. Just as so many have stated in their notes, Troy was such a sweet, humble, handsome young man in school and always had a kind word for everyone and obviously, continued those characteristics throughout his life, truly one of a kind. A young man that had everything going for him and most of all serving our God and Savior with a loving spirit and heart. What a legacy he has left behind for his precious wife and family. You know God takes the best to be with him and even though it is so difficult to understand here on earth, one day we will understand His plan. Tami and family, please know my heart hurts for you but lean on our God for your faith and strength and family and friends for encouragement and know that I will be praying for you now and throughout the next few weeks. Tami and family,
Words cannot begin to fill the loss that you are feeling but Christ can. I pray that He covers your family with the comfort that surpasses all understanding. Troy was the perfect example of a Godly husband, father, and friend. Tami, you and Troy were the ones that befriended me after the explosion. You cared for me, invited me to church and helped get me back under God's protection and plan. You affirmed my gift for teaching God's word. Your care for me through Christ changed my life. My story is unique to me but I am sure there are hundreds out there with a similar story of the lives touched by you and Troy. He will leave a giant hole in our hearts but I am sure that his mansion in heaven will have the greenest grass and I know he is helping prepare a place for you to be even better.

His passing will leave a big hole in this community, but he also leaves a wonderful legacy. There aren't many people that you can say that about, and almost none that I know personally that had the huge positive impact as Troy did. May God hold you tight and give you comfort.

I would like to send my deepest condolences to the whole family. Losing such a delightful person really makes my heart ache. I remember Mr. Glasco when I was on the swim team is high school and when I would see him at the meets he always had a smile on his face and he always was very friendly. He will be missed by many and will never be forgotten. The legacy he left is incredable and we all were blessed to have such compassionate and charismatic man in our lives and now he will be a guardian angel to watch over the many people that he touched. May God watch over and comfort you in this tragic time! Peace be with you.

I did not know Troy or your family personally. I only knew him in a business setting. I can say this though, he was a kind and happy man. It did not matter what your job or who you were, he was nice and spoke to everyone. Troy leaves a legacy of joy, faith, and family that was clear to all of us in this community. The Glasco family, all his friends, all his employees, and Champion Fellowship Church will remain in my thoughts and prayers. You lost a truly great man, but take comfort in knowing what a shining example he was to others for the Lord.

I didnt get to know you or your family as well as I would have liked; but I remember you and your sweet wife when y'all hired me so that I could do my high school co-op my senior year. I remember the two of you were such wonderful people and had so much love; not just for each other but you spread it out to anyone and everyone! I know you were able to touch so many hearts in so many ways and we were lucky to have such a wonderful man along with his family in our small community.

We got to know Troy when he was in elementary school. In fact, Troy played baseball with our son.
When we move here in 1993, it was a plesant surprise to learn that Troy was in Brenham. I had the pleasure of working with Troy on several projects with Habitat and others.
I haven't met a better man. Please know that we are sharing a degree of your loss and grief. How sad our lives would have been if had not had this too brief time with Troy.

Tami & Family,

I'm so sorry to hear about Troy. He was always good to me and good to be around. In my Jr High to High School years, I often felt like I was somebody just because Troy was my friend. Of course, that's the special thing about your husband/dad/brother. He was the most popular guy around, but he had a way of making others feel like they were significant. I see that this remained one of his hallmark characteristics because I just perused some of the Guestbook signings. It was full of people from Brenham and the surrounding area, a testimony that Troy continued making those around him feel significant. What a beautiful gift, and he graciously shared it everywhere he went. I believe it's extremely rare to find someone who is good looking and tremendously popular, but who doesn't care about the popularity part. Troy was that rare exception. I celebrate who he was, who he is, and the difference that his living made in my life and the lives of so many others. My heart really does grieve with you in this loss. Praying that God may bless you and comfort the ache in everyone's heart.

I am sorry for your loss. But I believe he is already preparing a place for the rest of his heirs as we speak. GOD SPEED TROY

I was really shocked to hear the news about Troy. I was one of his classmates through many years in Waller schools. One thing that stands out about Troy is the fact that even though he was one of the star athletes in every sport in town, he nevertheless was always a humble, likable, and hardworking guy. There wasn't anyone who didn't like Troy, and there were certainly many who looked up to him. And, as people like him are in such short supply these days, it has been little surprise to see the business he founded in Brenham grow so successfully over the years. My sympathies to Tami and to all of Troy's family and loved ones.

Little did he know, but I think of Troy everyday of my life because outside my kitchen window is the most magnificent fig tree. Troy planted it there for me personally 19 years ago. Tami, Tori, Haley, Paige,
My heart aches for you and your families. WOW, a loving, kind, and Godly man has left his earthly home much too soon. But as we know too well God calls us home when He is ready. Age is not a factor. Troy left an impact on many people including my family. Troy and Tami the first two we met when visiting FBC, the first two to make special arrangements when our son Andrew was only a couple of weeks old and we were afraid of leaving him in the church nursery, and the first two to understand the loss of a child. Troy truly was an example of a perfect husband, father and family man. He loved The Lord and was not afraid to show it outwardly. A true servant of God's always seeking His advice first.

Please know the depth of your loss is felt by this entire community. He will be missed and always remembered as a Godly man who loved his family and did for others. Heaven is truly blessed by his presence. Our love and prayers are with you in the days ahead.
