Virginia Dare (Krause) Whittemore

Virginia Whittemore, 79, of Katy, passed away on January 1, 2017.

A graveside service will be held in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery of Gay Hill, on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 2:00 p.m..

Virginia was born to Alvin and Hermine (Huebner) Krause on September 3, 1937, in Brenham, Texas. Virginia was married to Robert Whittemore on May 25th, 1957. They made their home in the Houston area. Virginia spent many years doing secretarial work for Texas Children’s Hospital and from there retired. Virginia was an active member of Fleetwood Church of Christ in Houston.

Virginia is survived by: daughters, Lura Stevens and Charlotte (Christopher) Hose; grandchildren, Caroline Hose and Claire Hose; siblings, Kay (Freddy) Schmidt and Alvin Krause Jr.; nephew, Derek (Jennifer)Schmidt; grand-nephews, Trinton and Jameson; grand-niece Veronica and numerous cousins.

Virginia is preceded in death by husband Robert, parents, and sister-in-law Sonia Krause.
