Obituary
Adeline Fuchs Landua, 92, of Burton passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 in St. Joseph’s Regional Health Center in Bryan.
Adeline was born August 2, 1918 in Burton to parents Robert A. and Martha (Jaroszewski) Fuchs. On September 15, 1918 she was baptized in St. John’s UCC of Burton by Rev. H. L. Schulz and on April 9, 1933 she was confirmed in the same church by Rev. Adolph Walton. She attended Hohenwalde School and graduated from Brenham High School in 1936. On January 11, 1942 she was united in marriage to Lespa Charles “Lep” Landua in St. John’s UCC in Burton by Rev. Paul Knicker. Adeline was employed at the ASCS office and the Washington County Clerk’s office, from where she retired. As a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, she served sixty years as church treasurer. She was also a member of the choir, taught Sunday school and played the piano. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA), Washington County Farm Bureau, and was a supporter of the Rocky Creek Fire Department. She loved tending to her cattle and dancing along with visiting friends at dances.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Robert Fuchs and Franklin Fuchs along with numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Her loving family includes surviving sons Dennis Paul Landua and wife Lola of Bellville, and Royce Alan Landua and wife Jayne of Cypress; grandchildren Paul and Catherine Landua, John and Kalli Landua, Jennifer and Zachary Hughes, Kristin Landua, Austin Landua, Tyler Landua; great-grandchildren Kensey Landua, Colton Landua; sisters Hildegard Lewis of Burton, Mildred Hart of Austin, Louise Jacob of Houston; brother Milton Fuchs of Houston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Melvin and Ruby Kelm of Brenham along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 29 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, December 30 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg with Rev. Steven Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Paul Landua, John Landua, Dennie Marek, Robert Fuchs, Leslie Kelm and Mack Farr. Honorary pallbearers will be all other grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg or the American Cancer Society.
