Obituary
Alice Marie Holle of Brenham passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Gazebo Terrace at the age of 88 years.
Alice Marie was born to Herman E. and Catherine (Johnson) Schleider in Houston on July 25, 1923. She was baptized October 14, 1923 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church by Rev. Arthur Hartmann and confirmed March 21, 1937 at Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Houston by Rev. Donald Eloder. On October 16, 1942 she was united in marriage to Fred Raymond Holle at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville by Rev. J. Fred Mgebroff. For many years, Alice Marie was employed as a clerk in the Washington County Tax Appraisal District Office. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Catherine Schleider, spouse Fred Raymond Holle, infant son Fred Holle, brother and sister-in-law Herb and Bernice Schleider and granddaughter Stacie Mehrens.
Her loving family survives: daughters and sons-in-law Janie and R.J. “Tiny” Mehrens, Dr. Barbara Doleshal, Sedonia and G.R. Powell, Carrie and Roger Gaskamp; son and daughter-in-law William H. “Billy” and Karen Holle; former son-in-law and his wife, Les and Virginia Doleshal; sister and brother-in-law Marge and John Darrah; grandchildren Jay and Misty Mehrens, Holly and Brian Boeker, Lindsay and Viggo Wichmann, Zachary Doleshal and fiancée Brandy Guntel, Hondo Powell, Haley Powell, Clay and Kristina Gaskamp, Lucas and Megan Gaskamp, Cullen Holle and special friend Kelsey Hutchins, and Will Holle; great-grandchildren Sara Mehrens, Cody and Trenten Boeker, Henry Wichmann, Cameron and Carson Gaskamp.
Visitation with the Holle family will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Service will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2012 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Rev. Phil Fenton will officiate. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Hazel Farris, Gertrude Braun and Ruth Thomas.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
