Obituary
Alma Eve Hodde, 82 of Brenham, passed away Friday, June 3, 2005 at her home.
On May 11, 1923 Alma Eve was born in Brenham to August W. Hodde and Norma Hartstack Hodde. She was baptized, confirmed and a lifetime member at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Alma Eve graduated from Brenham High School and The John Sealy College of Nursing of The University of Texas in Galveston, Texas. As a registered nurse she was employed at the former Milroy and Bohne Hospitals and the Brenham Rest Home before retiring in 1995.
She was currently serving as Vice President of the Tuesday Noon Circle of WELCA and a member of the Pilot Club since 1960.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Norma Lacina.
Her loving family includes: brother A. W. Hodde, Jr. and wife Virginia of Brenham; brother-in-law L.J. Lacina of Brenham; nieces and nephews Johnny and Carey Lacina, Gwen and Donald Spiess, James and Lynette Hodde, Dr. Lorna and Russell Gifford, Tim and Michele Lacina, Dr. Lefayne Hodde and Robert and Stephanie Hodde along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the Hodde family will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services celebrating Alma Eve Hodde’s life will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2005 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham with Rev. Lawrence Bade and Rev. Kim Little-Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Johnny Lacina, Tim Lacina, Jonas Lacina, Robert Hodde, James Hodde, Donald Spiess, Adam Spiess, Thomas Loughlin III, Mark Ellis, Russell Gifford and James Gifford.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hospice of Brazos Valley or A. W. Hodde Endowed Scholarship Fund at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas.
