Obituary

Alton Jacob Seilheimer, 85 of Brenham and the husband of Erna Seilheimer, passed away on June 30, 2022.

Alton was born July 19, 1936 in the Gay Hill Community of Washington County to
Alvin and Elsie (Gaskamp) Seilheimer. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville, baptized on August 16, 1936 and later confirmed on April 2, 1950. Alton attended the Charlesville School in the Gay Hill Community. On October 20, 1956, Alton married Erna Rebbe at Zion Lutheran Church.

Alton "Nookie" Seilheimer lived a full and happy life. He loved his Lord first and then he loved his family. He always kept up with everyone's activities - whether it was Little League games, school activities or their latest deer hunt.

He was a true teacher to his family. He taught his boys how to paint, garden, hunt and fish. He loved to see their latest catch or buck!

He was a painter by trade for his whole working life. All of his sons have worked with him or for him at some point in their lives.

Watching or listening to baseball was one of his favorite things - especially if the Brenham Cubs or the Astros were playing. Raising cattle also brought him so much joy. He loved to sit in the truck for hours and just watch the cows.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Elsie Seilheimer; infant sister; father-in-law and mother-in-law Gus and Martha Rebbe; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Elvera and Marvin Kelm, Dorothy and Wilfred Gaskamp, Willie Schneider, Lois and Glenwood Hugo.

He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Roy Haarmeyer, brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Doris Ann Seilheimer, sister-in-law MaryLee Schneider, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
