Obituary
Annie Elizabeth Moore, “Ann or Annie”, Mom, Gramma, Great Gramma, went home to be with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, September 10, 2025. Annie was born August 8, 1932, in Aransas Pass, Texas, to Arthur Richard and Iva Elizabeth Horn.
Annie attended college in San Marcos, Texas. On Registration Day, she met her future husband, Joseph P. Moore, at the Baptist Student Union on campus in San Marcos, Texas. Annie married Joe, the love of her life, February 8, 1953. They finished school at University of Corpus Christi, in Corpus Christi, Texas. After graduation Annie and Joe moved to Fort Worth where Joe entered Southwestern Seminary. During this time, they were blessed with a son and daughter. Annie later attended TWU in Denton, Texas, completing her college education, just her thesis shy of completing her master’s degree in special education. She taught multiple grades, and subjects over her teaching career and finished as the special ed director in Aldine ISD. She also taught Sunday school off and on through the years.
Annie loved her husband and soul mate, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to teach, engage in intellectual conversations with her son, grandson, friends and family that would participate. She loved flowers, especially roses and orchids which she grew successfully. Annie loved to cook, gather with and interact with her kids, their spouses, her grandchildren and close friends. She had a way of helping you to always know where she stood on things that were important to her. She loved to walk the beach with her best friend Etta Wisenbaker. But the most important thing is she loved to read her Bible and share her wisdom and insight with anyone and tell what the Lord had done for her in her life.
Annie is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Dannar (Larry Dannar), her daughter-in-law, Sandra Moore; her grandchildren Russell Harmon (Lydiann Harmon), Elizabeth Shaw (James Shaw), Rachel Croft (Taylor Croft), and Christina Moore; her great grandchildren Hunter Harmon (Kenley Harmon), Emma Vera (Jose Vera), Grace Mader, Rylee Mader, and Reece Croft; and her sister Sylvia Joan Cranfill, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends to celebrate her home going.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Iva E. and Arthur R. Horn, her husband, Joseph P. Moore, her son, Air Force Chaplain Joseph Arthur ‘Art’ Moore.
