Augustus "Gus" Gene Graves

With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of Augustus Gene Graves, who left this world on July 17, 2026 at the age of 21.

Gus took great pride in his education and was a proud 2026 graduate of the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Avondale, Arizona, where he completed the Master Mechanic's Program (MMI).

Gus lived life with an adventurous spirit and a heart that was bigger than he ever realized. He found peace in the outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting, or hiking, and he loved spending time listening to music and playing video games with family and friends. His smile, sense of humor, and kind heart touched the lives of so many, and the memories he created will be treasured forever.

Above all, Gus will be remembered for the love he shared, the friendships he built, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will last a lifetime.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Mike Ramirez and grandmother Debbie Graves.

Gus is survived by his parents Zach and Sandy Graves; Shaun Phillips and his wife Britt; his
sister, Mikayla Hunter Graves; his brother Macray Phillips; grandparents, Ilma Ramirez, Andy and Lupina Verastique, Tommy and Ginger Graves, Kathy Blazek, Ted and Sandy Phillips; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Life honoring Gus will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Navasota River Halls, located at 2692 TX-105, Navasota, Texas 77868. The gathering will be held in the larger venue, Outlaw Hall, where family and friends are invited to come together to honor Gus's life, share cherished memories and stories, and celebrate the love, laughter, and adventures he brought to so many. Following the service, a reception will be held, and guests are welcome to BYOB.
