Obituary
Barbara Marie Shelton, born December 20, 1935, fulfilled her obligations of faith, hope and love to her Lord and passed her spirit from earth to heaven on April 17, 2023.
Barbara was a parishioner for many years at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Brenham, Texas. She was a faithful servant and spent many hours of Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
As a military wife and mother, she bravely traveled the world with five children in tow. She made it a home whether it was in Texas, Mississippi, New York, Helsinki or Berlin. She enjoyed square dancing from Berlin to Texas and made lifelong friends in the different clubs. She also had a love of shopping, playing games and puzzles, and collecting Barbies.
A mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who never wavered in her commitment to instill a love of our Creator. She loved fiercely and unconditionally and wanted us to believe in more than our earthly lives.
Barbara was preceded in her spiritual journey by: her loving husband Fred Shelton; her parents, Bernard and Hazel Pulis; and siblings, Betty Padgett, Gene Pulis, and Richard Pulis. Her life is celebrated by: daughter, Diana and Jim Hurst; son, Michael and Sabrina Shelton; son, Kenneth Shelton; daughter, Rozanne Shelton; and daughter, Katina and Jason Jenkins; grandchildren, Grant and Rebecca Adkins, Stephanie and Gabe Mesa, Chelsea and Daniel Thornton, Shelby Kettrick, Katie Shelton and Xavier Salas, Roy Vega, Montana Vega, Zach Jenkins, Sam Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Payton, Kiley, Zoey, Olivia Diane and Jesse Michael; along with her siblings, Marcella Jellum and Theresa Woods.
Our family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and loving care given by all of the staff at Seasons Assisted Living in Navasota and Allumine Hospice of College Station.
